Hazel CoCo Rachal, age 89, of Simmesport, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Bayou Chateau Nursing Home in Simmesport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lance and Hannah Deville CoCo; husband, John O. Rachal; sons, Larry Rachal, John Rachal, Bryan Rachal; daughters, Sharon Avants, Sandra Plauche; sisters, Mildred Knoll, Doris Clark; brother, Bobby CoCo; grandsons, David Rachal and Gregory Plauche.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Simmesport for over 60 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She always sported a smile regardless of any adversities she faced in life.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sisters, Lula Gaspard of Marksville, Barbara Crawford of Big Bend; brother, Layton CoCo of Big Bend, 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Jude Leon "J.L." Juneau, age 80, passed away on November 4, 2016 surrounded by his family members. J.L. was born on April 19, 1936 to Oscar Juneau and Laura Belle Ducote Juneau. He loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family. He served in the United States Army and retired after a long career at Exxon. Mr. Redmon, age 84 of Bunkie, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Lafayette General Southwest. He was born on January 1, 1932.
He was always a hardworking and devoted father and husband. His hobby was working. He spent 26 years as parts manager at John Deere-Voelker Implement while also operating a janitorial sales and service business. For many years, he drove to Alexandria every Sunday morning at 4 a.m. and purchased 120 dozen donuts and returned to Bunkie to sell them on Main Street, along with the Sunday Times Picayune. Additionally, he distributed daily the Times Picayune and States Item newspapers to his many customers. In 1976, he began selling carpet from a few samples out of the back of his panel van until the business grew and became Redmon’s Carpet and Flooring on Chevy Lane in Bunkie. He continued working there every day until his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Frank Thomas and Ozite Galland Redmon.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Eline Gagnard Redmon of Bunkie; daughters, Marilyn R. (Michael) Doucet of Lafayette and Elizabeth Ann R. (Billy) Smith of Bunkie; sister, Edith (Robert) Ossowski of Walker; his grandchildren, Brandy Brewer, Blake Brewer, Justin Doucet, Logan Doucet, Jeremy Smith, Lauren Smith, Olivia Sabottke and Craig Sabottke; and his great-grandchildren, Claire, Garrett, Carter, Davis, and Julia. He was dearly loved and appreciated by his entire family.

McNeal passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. He was born on November 11, 1951. He was an avid hunter. A former employee of Angola State Penitentiary and Avoyelles Correctional Center, and had served in the National Guard for six years.
Mr. McNeal was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rita McNeal and a grandson, Trinidy Jaxon Maricle.
He was survived by his fiancé, Mary Bardwell; three daughters and their husbands, Robin (Chad) Dubea of Marksville; Hollie (Chad) Dauzat of Marksville; and Valerie (Trampus) Maricle of Oakdale; one sister, Barbara Gauthier; and extended family, Travis Bardwell, Tracey Bardwell and Felicia Desselle.

Ducote, age 79 of Hessmer passed away at Avoyelles Hospital on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:20 p.m.
Lucy is a native of Gonzales and was a graduate of Gonzales High School, class of 1955. She relocated to Hessmer after retirement with Chem Spray South with many years of service. During her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, spending time in prayer and always treasured family time. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Lucy will now be joined in Heaven by her parents, Dewey and Ina Villar Poirrier; sister, Helen Templet; nephew, Don Duplessis; and niece, Monique Ory.

Brother Keys was a member of Amazon Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and he served his country through the US Army. He was a licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director for the state of Louisiana displaying his craft at Bunkie Funeral Home for over 40 years and Progressive Funeral Home for 13 years. He was very active in the city of Bunkie, serving as a member of the Chamber of Commerce; Board Member at Bunkie General Hospital; City Health Inspector; organized and served as President of AARP.

Mrs. McConnell, age 101, of Lafayette, formerly of Bunkie, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 at the Cornerstone Village South in Lafayette. Mrs. Charlotte, was born in West Baton Rouge Parish at St. Delphine, the Levert family home on Sept. 19, 1915. After graduating from LSU with a BS Medical Technology degree, she was employed at the "Old Charity Hospital" in Shreveport where she met and married "Dr. Mac". They moved to Bunkie, where he set up his medical practice. In 1993, she moved to Lafayette to be near her children. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Dr. Hiram Adonis McConnell; her son, Michael McConnell, PhD; parents, Octave Henry and Ada Bernard Levert; sisters, Reine Sauls, Marjorie Sanford, Olga Kennedy and Elaine Faulk; brothers, Marvin Levert, August du Montier "Tay" Levert and Alton Levert.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Shannon and husband, Dick, of Morgan City; her two sons, Dr. Don McConnell and wife, Barbara, of Carencro and Johnny McConnell and wife, Jody, of Scott; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Mr. Lacombe, age 55, of Effie, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 12, 206 in his residence surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, James Marion Lacombe, father in law, Gerald Beaubouef, paternal grandparents, Leonard Jr. and Aline Lacombe, maternal grandparents, Willard and Lucille Deville.
Randy graduated from Marksville High School in 1979, and then went on to graduate from ULL in 1983 with a B.S. in Industrial Technology. Randy worked eleven years at Shell Oil Company then went on to purchase Quality Lumber. He was a loyal and honorable man of great faith, who lived out his faith on a daily basis and helped others. Randy’s Devotion, loyalty and connection with his wife and children was tremendous and the relationships that he cherished and shared with his family and friends were true, deep, and unwaving.
Randy was an avid hunter who promoted safety of the sport to the youth of Avoyelles Parish. He became a volunteer as a Hunter Education Instructor with the L.D.W.F. He was also a lifetime supporter and member of Ducks Unlimited. Randy was also a Third Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 9294.
We consider ourselves fortunate to have known and loved him and will hold on fiercely to his memory we are clinging to our faith and hope in the promise of being reunited one day with our husband, father, and true friend, Randy.

Anne Mayeaux, age 57, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Anne enjoyed her time babysitting her grandchildren, tending to her yard, garden, and flowerbeds, spending time camping with her husband and family, watching LSU football and the Christmas holidays.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years Roger Mayeaux of Moreauville; daughters, Amiee Zaunbrecher (Damion) of Hamburg, Kacie Mayeaux (Drew Rabalais) of Bordelonville, Claire Bordelon (BJ) of Simmesport; parents, Henry & Peggy Hess; brother & sister, Jeffrey Hess (Jeanne) of Bordelonville & Joan Tebow (William) of Bunkie; grandchildren, Baylie, Lillie, Kinlie, Aiden, & Gordon; and also her nephews, extended family, friends, and her dog Lexi.
Pallbearers for the service will include: Mason Hess, Luke Hess, Toby Armand, Damian Zaunbrecher, Drew Rabalais, BJ Bordelon, & Devin Valois. The cross bearer will be Baylie Zaunbrecher.

MANSURA - Funeral services for Philip Vernon Augustine, Sr. of Mansura, age 82, will take place at the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church of Mansura on Monday, November 21, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will commence at the St. Paul Catholic Mausoleum. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura that morning beginning at 8 a.m.
Philip Vernon Augustine, Sr. was born on July 24, 1944 to the union of the late Herman Augustine and Laura Barker Augustine of Mansura. He was the sixth of nine children.
Philip accepted Christ at an early age at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. He was a faithful and dedicated member on the church board and the church grounds (the youth baseball field). He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge 89 in Marksville for over 40 years. Vernon was a master at his craft, he worked as a brick layer for 50 years, building many buildings in and around Mansura.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Maria Lofton Augustine on April 16, 1974 and to this union three daughters were born.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Marian Augustine; son, Vernon (Debbie) Augustine, Jr. of Mansura; daughters, Amanda Deshtelle, Brenda (Daniel) Coleman of Marksville, Beverly Augustine, Bridgette (Troy) Winfield, Sarona (Dondrae) Jacobs, Sheretta (Carl, Sr.) Barton, and Victoria (Derek) Williams of Mansura; raised as his own, Cynthia Lofton, Shanteria (Leroy) Wells, Vanlisa (Billy) Bazert, and Eric (Sumin) Lofton; brother, Lester (Thelma) Augustine; three sisters, Marilyn Pierre of Mansura, Eula (Eldon) Batiste of Cocoville, Mary (Donald) Prier of Katy, Texas; brother-in-law, Clenon (Elizabeth) Lofton of Mansura, and Samuel Lucas, Everette (Shelia) Lofton of Marksville; sisters-in-law, Amy Augustine, Gilda Augustine of Mansura; three aunts, Edna Augustine, Theresa Johnson of Mansura, and Eunice Washington; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marksville – A memorial service will be held for Malcolm Joseph McGee, Sr. at St. John Community Church-Baptist of Marksville, on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 7 p.m. with Rev. Charles Guillory officiating. Graveside services will be at the St. John Community Church-Baptist Cemetery on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10 a.m. under the direction of Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
Malcolm Joseph McGee, Sr., age 73 of Marksville passed away at Avoyelles Hospital on Monday, November 13, 2016. He was a proud Vietnam veteran with the United States Marine Corps and a retired police officer with the Harbor Police Department. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Malcolm will now be joined in Heaven by his wife, Mary Chartion McGee; and his parents, Silton and Gertrude Baker McGee.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Malcolm (Tamika) McGee, Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Merrick McGee of Angletown, Texas; brother, Nelson (Elise) Pierre of Marksville; sister, Yolonda McGee Moon of New Orleans; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
SGTM Richard F. Graham, age 85, a native of Simmesport, resident of Baton Rouge,
SGTM Richard F. Graham (retired) passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 on his 85th birthday. A native of Simmesport, LA. and resident of Baton Rouge, he retired after over 39 years with the US Army Reserve and National Guard as a Command Sergeant Major with numerous awards including The Meritorious Service Medal, The Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal. He retired from the State of Louisiana as Director of Milk and Dairy Division with over fifty years of service. He was a member of HACCP committee with FDA and has been recognized for his volunteer work to assure the safety of Grade A milk products. He is survived by his wife; India McLin Graham, two daughters and spouses; Colleen and Paul Kron and Theresa and Don Detillier, six sons and spouses; Dennis and Sherry Graham, John Graham, Clifton and Charlene Graham, Henry and Connie Graham, Andrew and Pam Graham and Michael and Carolyn Graham, two step-children and spouses; Darlene and Keri Breland and Teri and Ron Cowart, 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, his sister and brother-in-law; Charlotte and Hines Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Henry,Sr. and Emily Anne Clifton Graham, sister and brother-in-law; Emily and Sidney Ewing a brother; Charles Henry Graham, Jr. and the mother of their children; Shirley Barbay Graham. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd. Sunday, November 20, 2016 starting at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume Monday, November 21, 2016 at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am until services in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm, conducted by Brother Stephen M. Young II with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons with the honorary pallbearers are Carl Rushing, Bill Grace and Willie Joe Reynolds.
