A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Eldred Joseph Desselle on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Rev. Scott Chemino officiating. Entombment will be in the Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 9:00 AM - 10:45 AM.
Mr. Desselle, age 71, of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Bayou Vista Community Care Center. He was a retired deputy with the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Theresa Aymond Desselle and a brother, Gerald Paul Desselle.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Sabia Juneau Desselle of Bunkie; his step-daughter, Marilyn Bowman Cockerham and husband, Tim, of Prairieville; his step-son, Ted Bowman of Bunkie; his two sisters, Betty Dauzat and husband, Robert, of Marksville and Mary Fontenot and husband, Gerald, of Lawtell; his brother, Anthony Desselle and wife, Fredrika, of Arnaudville; three step-grandchildren and three step great=grandchildren.
