Narcille Roy Mayeux age 94 of Marksville

Narcille walked into the arms of our Savior at 7:30 p.m. on Monday,
September 19, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Narcille Roy
Mayeux will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016 at St.
Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville with Father Rusty Rabalais
officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum #2 in Marksville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home
of Marksville.
Mrs. Mayeux, age 94, of Marksville, was born on May 15, 1922 to her
parents, Landry A. and Carrie Zimmer Roy of Mansura, where she was
born and reared. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers,
Loys Roy, Alton Roy, John Roy, Huey Roy; her sisters, Myrtle Roy
Scallan, Bessie Goux Neck, Julette Roy Bordelon, Inez Roy Kohler and
Connie Roy Lemoine.
She is also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Hudson J.
Mayeux, Sr., and her much beloved daughter, Mona Ann Mayeux
Couvillion, who left such a huge void in our hearts.
Narcille was a homemaker who excelled in cooking, sewing for "her
girls", crocheting, and much more. She made beautiful baby quilts for
each great grandchild. She loved going to the camp with "Lut" and "her
boys".
Her life reflected her kind and generous heart and has left us with a
legacy of cherished memories. She will be greatly missed! To her
children, she loved unconditionally and was an encourager throughout
her lifetime.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gaydis M. Dupont,
of Woodworth, LA, Linda Lee Mayeux of Marksville; her sons, Harris
Stephen Mayeux (Bernadette) of Alexandria, Hudson Joseph Mayeux, Jr.
(Vivian) of Denham Springs, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren;
sisters-in-law, Laura Mayeux Gremillion of Marksville and Beverly
Mayeux Couvillon of Alexandria.
Visitation will be held at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville
on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and
will resume on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until shortly before the time of
services.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Chapel of
Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville.
