Funeral services for Mr. Evans "Pete" Paul Gauthier, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer, with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Entombment will be held in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Gauthier, age 82, of Hessmer, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was a native and resident of Hessmer, member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a Eucharistic minister, United States Army Veteran, retired from the U. S. Department of Agriculture after 33 years of service, retired from Paragon Casino. Mr. Gauthier was also a member of the local Woodman of the World and a state and national officer for Woodman of the World,
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Pauline F. Gauthier of Hessmer, nephews, Alvin Bryant of Alexandria, Vincent Bryant of Beaumont, TX., niece Linda Bryant of Nashville, TN., Brother in law, Leon J. Franklin of Bunkie, sister in law, Paulette Johnson of Pine Prairie.
Visitation will be held at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Monday from 8:00 am until 10:00 a.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
