Funeral services for Mr. Wendell Haywood “Buddy” Knight will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Brother Grady Dodge officiating. Interment will be in Vick Baptist Cemetery in Vick. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Knight, age 83, of Vick, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Grace Home in Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cullen and Doris King Knight, one brother, Deleburn Knight, and sister, Patsy Knight Harris.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Eloyce McCann Knight of Vick, one son, Kelly Knight of Vick, one daughter, Kim Smith and husband Craig of Deville, stepchildren, Kamie Deville and husband Tommy of Deville, Maxwell Price and wife Apryl of Vick, two brothers, Donnie Knight and wife Linda, Ronnie Knight and wife Beth, all of Winnsboro, TX, two sisters, Kathy Knight of Sulphur Springs, TX, Wanda Banks and husband Dalton of Scroggins, TX, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday until shortly before time of services.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Craig Smith, Quintin Smith, Chase Linzay, Tommy Deville, Brandon Deville, and Richie White.
