Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Lane, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Reverend Charles E. Guillory officiating. Interment will be in Cushman Cemetery in Marksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Lane, age 78, of Fifth Ward, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lane, Sr. and Leola Thomas Lane.
Those left to cherish his memories include his companion of 24 years, Geraldine Edwards of Marksville, five sons, Ray A. Lane, Patrick Lane, both of Omaha, Nebraska, Vincent Lane of Opelousas, LA, Derrick Thomas of Mansura, LA, Arthur Ray Thomas of Bunkie, LA, five daughters, Patricia Dunn, Marilyn Clausell, Delia Lane, all of Omaha, Nebraska, Ann Thomas of Marksville, LA, Dequitta M. Laborde of Alexandria, LA, brother, Larry Lane of Rayne, LA, sister, Dorothy Francisco of Houston, TX, 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Michael Brown, Sr., Eric Jacobs, James Brown, Quindrick Batiste, Harold Batiste, and Marcus Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Thomas, Patrick Lane, Arthur Ray Thomas, Peter Francisco, Ray A. Lane, Jimmy Kelley.
