A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Leona G. Guillot will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward with Father William Gearhead officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery #3 in Fifth Ward. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mrs. Guillot, age 83, of Fifth Ward, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Valley View Health Care Facility in Marksville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Whitney and Flossie Carmouche Guillot, husband, Ivy Guillot, Sr. and son, Jerrel Guillot.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Wendell Guillot (Cyndee) of Marksville, Ivy Guillot, Jr. of Fifth Ward, two daughters, Danita Dupuy (Minell) of Spring Bayou, Sheila St. Romain (Chuck) of Fifth Ward, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until shortly before funeral service.
A rosary by Deacon Ted Moulard will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Jerrel Guillot, Jr., Jeremey Guillot, Madison Guillot, Roark Gaspard, Hagen Temple, and Freddy Dauzat. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Guillot and Ben Dupuy. Gail Moulard will serve as Eucharistic Minister and Altar Server, Gospel Readings will be read by Teresa Guillot, and Gift Bearers will be Angelle Temple and Ainsley Gaspard.
