Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Goudeau Desselle will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with Reverend Gary Jones officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum #2 in Marksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mrs. Desselle, age 88, of Marksville, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Valley View Health Care Facility in Marksville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelly and Litia Ponthieux Goudeau; husband, Wilson Desselle, Jr.; sons, Nathan Desselle, Wilson “Sonny” Desselle, III; brother, Willie Goudeau; sisters, Marjorie Quartermont, Nellie Layfield, Della Goudeau, and Marie Goudeau.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Geraldine Rabalais of Marksville, Susan Desselle Bordelon of Marksville; one brother, Kelly Goudeau, Jr. of Slidell; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in the Parlor of Hixson Brothers Funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Monday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
